I’m posting pictures from my sister’s Memorial Day weekend because hers was far more…interesting. She didn’t spend it cleaning her house, packing, and doing laundry. She didn’t spend an hour on her hands and knees cleaning out the kitchen pantry food closet. Although, to be fair, she also didn’t judge an impromptu belly-rolling contest for her neighbors’ little girls. Ahem.

Oh, no. My sister got to seethis:

And then this:

And then she saw it less than three feet away through the living room window. But apparently that was a little much for my sister, who decided (given her track record) that the safety standards of said plate glass window was a little too thin for her taste. So she hid in the stairwell. You know, in case the bear turned into a tornado, or something.

Look out, backwoods of Connecticut: Imma coming in a few days. Don’t spend all of your excitement before I get there. Please and thank you.

Maybe I can have the girls help me make a bear trap when they’re up here

Wow! That is really exciting and maybe just a little scary. I would love to see a bear that close though. Just maybe not on my picnic table.

OMG! Hope they got to eat some of the goodies! 🙂

We had just finished pic-a-nicking and most of the food had been stored inside – Lil Bear kept going after all the coronas, though, heh. We were brave/stupid enough to eat berry pie on the deck while a few of our number went around photographing tracks and paw prints after he departed. At one point, someone heard a big rustling in the woods and we all went running back to the house! Wasn’t him, though. And the pie was deeeelicious!

    Yikes! That’s cool and scary!
