Merrrrry Christmas, everyone!
Today is really Christmas Eve at our house. My girlies came home a few hours ago and guess what they brought? SNOW!!
There is already another inch on the ground and those big, beautiful picturesque-kind of snowflakes are falling from the sky. I knew when they kept taking the rain out of my forecast, and then only said there was a 30% chance of rain, and then said the snow would all be north of here that if I just kept glaring at the forecast believing in my Christmas miracle, it would happen.
We spent the afternoon baking gingerbread to leave for Santa tonight (he’s stopping by on his way back to his place), and then decorating a gingerbread village for our gingerbread men to frolic in.
Bee’s house is Christmas-fantastic! It features walls, a door, people peeking out the window and SPARKLES. She won our contest hands down!
Gracie’s house is clearly the best at snow drifts! We will pretend it was on purpose the entire time, and not just after she discovered the silver sprinkles didn’t have a shaker lid. Ahem.
Auntie Kim’s adorbs A-frame won in the adaptability category after she designed steps to cover her gapping foundation issues. Landscaping for the win!
And that would be my house. Did I mention I was hoping for snow? Yes. Well. We decided that I win at unexpected skylight features. Heh. Also: creative use of toothpick support.
So there you have it: Christmas fun abounds at Casa de Katie. I hope no matter where you’re hanging out today or who you’re sharing your holiday with that it’s filled with just as much magic as ours.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

oh god. i hope yours was eaten first =] Kim’s is the most chic (very hgtv), Bee’s looks the tastiest, and Gracie’s is the one I would feel most safe living in ( a very important category since we’re all now dreaming of living in one of these!).

Love the houses! I also love that Santa stops at your house on his way home. What a great way to make that work. Hope your Christmas today (12/26) is as magical as can be. Merry Christmas my friend!
