Look! Something pretty!

I am going to ignore all the sick right now and instead focus on something pretty. (Although, for those of you keeping score: Gracie spiked a fever yesterday and her second flu-test in as many days came back positive. This morning, it was Bee’s turn to throw up all over the hall. Half of me is glad they’re at their Dad’s; half of me wants to storm the castle and bring them home so I can take care of them.) Blah, blah, blah – this will be The Christmas When Everyone Had The Flu. Knowing you’re creating your Rock Star Status helps you keep perspective, a little.

But! Distractions! By looking at Something Pretty! Namely – me! Oh, okay, and the girls too. Burst my bubble, whydon’tcha?

Here are a few pics from the photo shoot the other night. We went to the park near that’s nearish to our neighborhood and has lots of great spots for backdrops. What a blast we had! I felt a little awkward because while I might look stunning in candids, I always feel a little funny when I take “formal” portraits. Singing Gaga’s “Paparazzi” in my head the whole time helped a little. Heh.

Auntie Kim thinks Bee looks like Little Red Riding Cardigan.

Such a pretty family, if I do say so myself!
Gracie is pointing out the alligator (stick) in the pond. (I might not have corrected her.)
I think I look squishy in this one, but the girls! They look so pretty! And QUIET!
Who’s that trip-trapping on my bridge?
Closed captioning: “Look at the water and stay still.” “I can’t see the water!” “Do NOT climb the fence!” “But I can’t SEE!” “Look at the rocks over there then.” “Mom! There are a LOT of rocks. Be specific.” Sigh.
How cute is Bee’s Christmas dress? Love those flutter sleeves.
Reading in front of the Christmas tree. Have I mentioned how excited I am for Christmas?

So there you have it folks. Eventually I’m going to have to tear myself away from the pretty, pretty photos so I can finish my baking and maybe work on the photo calendar I’m making for my mom. And maybe – probably – wipe down the house with bleach one. more. time.  I will either have very clean hands or no fingerprints left by the end of this week, I can just tell.
