Sounds oxymoronic, doesn’t it? But it’s true. This week’s love is of a very simple variety, and yet it was both sinful and divine. To wit: I was having a bad start to my week. I was overworked. I was stressed. I was PMSing. I was all sorts of blue. And I was listless. Oh, the listlessness! I couldn’t even be properly cranky because I was too listless to work up even that much energy.
It was a sorry, pitiful affair, I tell you. I was in dire straights, me and my blues. So dire, in fact, that by mid-afternoon on Tuesday, I reached into our “special file” in the “special drawer” to have a piece of chocolate we keep stashed there. The only kinds that are left have almonds in them, and I hate almonds. Technically, I don’t hate almonds per se, I just hate them in my chocolate. I was so blue-sy that I was willing to blow the 25 calories in each piece and eat around the almonds. See? I told you things were dire.
So I reached in the drawer, ready to pull one out and what do you know – I found not one, but three pieces of chocolate sitting there staring at me! This was a remarkable find indeed because I happen to know for a fact that all of the plain Hershey’s Nuggets disappeared months ago; I know because I carefully sifted through the bag looking for any remainders. And checked again on more than a few occasions in case I had missed any. I checked really carefully. And that’s how it came to be that God sent me chocolate just so I wouldn’t do anything rash. Not that I had anything in mind, but knowing me, it could have been a doozy. Yep, divine intervention saved me. Those three pieces of chocolate were the highlight of my entire day. Just knowing that some invisible force out there cared enough about how I felt made me smile. The 75 calories were so. worth. it.
A little sinful chocolate and a little divine intervention. A little love to help me make it through my week. Happy Love Thursday, everyone! I hope a sinful treat finds its way to you today – go ahead and see if you can resist smiling!

Have a better day, and some more chocolate. It must be that kind of a week.

I can attest to the fact that the only chocolate left was almond-infested. I went in search of creamy cocoa goodness more than once only to be faced with sheer disappointment. So glad that Someone loves you to have sent you de-nuttified sweets.

@Kim – I’m betting there is some kind of chocolate to wine ratio for Love Thursday that she has to maintain.
